Temporary Wall Collage.

During the residency I have arranged and rearranged the different elements of this collage on the floor over several days, making changes instinctively. It has been transferred to the wall and again re-ordered. The collage is made up of found images, images from my work and actual pieces of previous work including smaller collages, drawings and photographs dating from now back to 2007.

Collage Work in Progress

Some collage work in progress at The Penthouse residency. Found images, drawings, photographs, words and images from my own work are arranged on the floor, adding rearranging the parts and composing sporadically in an improvised way over a few days.

Tube Map Rearranged

A London Underground map torn along the lines where I folded it to fit into my pocket and rearranged on graph paper. During my recent Trip to London I walked around the city -on average- about 8-10 miles a day and was thinking about ideas of Situationism, this is kind of a response to that. 

Here is one dictionary definition of rearrange: • change (the position, time, or order of something) : he had rearranged his schedule.

This phone picture has been enhanced in photoshop. More collage maps, field recordings and works inspired by that trip will be coming soon. The finished maps will be properly photographed later.

Untitled collage of graphics from old record covers, mainly the names of the companies, with a found frame slightly bigger than a 12 inch record sleeve.

Pages from collage book. (2011- ongoing)

Some scanned collages from a small exercise book. Approximately A5 in size. 

The materials are from a continuous collection of found images and bits of paper kept specially for collage.

The "Red Mono Blue Stereo" piece was composed in a few minutes and the clock with the Chinese map of Britain over few days as the clock picture was stuck down and the map added later. Many of the collages start from a picture that has already been stuck in the book for a while. The map and images in the two black and white collages are from a Chinese newspaper found on a bus in Manchester.

Postcard collages

The Postcard Collages are arranged on postcard sized flyers or plain postcards. The process of collecting pictures, words and numbers for the purpose of collage was begun a few years ago when when my work was based mainly on collecting, collage and drawing. These three were made recently after realizing that collage was still relevant to my work and I still enjoy doing it. They are composed of things collected over the last few years; bits cut from newspapers and record covers, receipts, an envelope, a photocopy of a key and some green paint found in my flat the day I moved in. An idea with these three- seeing as they have unused stamps in them- is to post them to myself and get the postmarks on them.
